Position: System Design Engineer

Business Unit:
The Wafer Inspection Division (WIN) is the world leader in the design and manufacture of advanced optical inspection tools for inline monitoring of process defects in advanced semiconductor factories.

The BBP architecture group is looking for a design system engineer 4 for the development for next generation BBP platform. The responsibilities of the principal optical engineer are:
  • Transform market and customer requirements into system configurations for N+1 and N+2 BBP inspection platforms
  • Develop novel inspection solution to detect < 5nm defect
  • Design and build module to test the concept of proposed innovation.
  • Collaborate with key functional groups to ensure the success of platform integration and product launch
  • Engage with customer technical development
The ideal candidate should have deep understanding in high resolution optical design, high speed sensor technology, advance image / signal processing techniques, statistical analysis techniques and EM simulation knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ year of experience in semi-conductor with exposure to wafer inspection or metrology
  • Experience demonstrating fast prototyping capability in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Strong analytical skill with the ability to transform abstract requirement into actionable optical development
  • Ability to perform EM simulation with minimal supervision
  • Experience in fast prototyping in Matlab, Python, and Tensor Flow
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ph.D. in physics, applied physics, or optics
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 5 years of experience.
Master's Level Degree with at least 4 years of experience.
Doctorate (Academic) with at least 2 years of experience.
