KLA-Tencor is the world leader in the design and manufacture of advanced optical inspection tools for inline monitoring of process defects in advanced semiconductor factories.

Responsibilities:
The HPC team operates in the very challenging environment of the rapidly evolving semiconductor industry. The group specifies and implements cutting edge data storage and computing hardware systems that are a key enabling component in KLA-Tencor’s Wafer Inspection Systems. These systems must be designed to meet demanding and often conflicting constraints on cost, performance, reliability, and stability.

The HPC team is looking for an energetic and talented systems engineer who can apply their engineering skills to the following responsibilities:
  • Work with internal application engineering to specify and implement improvements to KT’s proprietary data hub (central data storage and computing platform)
  • Work with KT’s SQC (Software Quality Control) engineers to develop test requirements for data hub
  • Work with KT’s internal marketing organization to improve process for specifying configuration of new data hub systems for external customers
  • Support KT’s Manufacturing organization to resolve issues related to the build and test of data-hub
  • Work with KT’s Global Service organization to improve tracking of existing hardware at customer sites
  • Develop and test new VM (virtual machine) golden images as new use cases emerge
  • Produce clear documents describing how to build and configure new computing system designs
  • Develop rigorous test plans to thoroughly qualify new computing system designs
  • Work with the manufacturing division to transfer the design from the drawing board to production
  • Support field escalations for HPC system team designs
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BS degree in Engineering (some emphasis on Computer applications desirable)
  • Solid experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Experience developing scripts for testing computing hardware (under Windows & Linux)
  • Experience setting up virtual machine GI’s to match a given hardware environment
  • Solid skills in software / mechanical / electrical systems level testing
  • Knowledge of SEMI Fab automation GEM/SECS Wafer handling software and factory automation testing methods
  • Experience with SW licensing requirements and processes
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Level Engineering Degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience
