Business Unit:
The Customer Group (CG) team is our field based, customer facing organization consisting of Sales, Marketing, Applications, Finance, Human Resources, Facilities and IT. They partner closely with our customers to provide a comprehensive portfolio of products, services, software and expertise, to help them manage yield throughout their fabrication process—from research and development to final volume production.  Responsibilities of this group include maintaining strategic client relationships, identifying and closing sales opportunities, ensuring our products meet performance capabilities and expectations, providing critical solutions for improved yield performance, and collecting requirements for future products by understanding customer processes and technology trends. Partnering with our service organization and factory divisions, this diverse and dynamic team helps ensure alignment between customer needs and corporate offering to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.

The selected Field Applications Engineers primary purpose is to provide 5D patterning process control technology support to our customer in Malta, NY, including product adoption, penetration, and market share activities centered on Best Known Methods (BKMs) development, identifying and implementing new applications and use cases, and maintaining competitive advantage. In addition, he/she will manage customer demos, competitive head to head activities at customer facilities, and long term adoption support. It will be his/her responsibility to generate BKMs and training material, transfer product knowledge and lessons learned to KLA-Tencor's WW Field Application Team. The candidate will have the ability to work with our customer team at Malta, NY, to conduct investigations, gather and analyze data, understand root causes of lithography patterning errors, and develop and implement lithography process control solutions to reduce patterning errors and improve yield.

The ideal candidate will have lithography process or applications experience with intimate familiarity in leading edge scanners or semiconductor process tools, lithography metrology tooling and/or lithography process development along with overlay, focus and dose control.

Preferred Qualifications:
Masters or PhD, in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Material Science or related fields.
Strong troubleshooting skills, combined with a methodical approach.
Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Well organized, self-driven, strong follow-up abilities, demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic technical environment.
Training in Semiconductor, Lithography or related fields.
Matlab or knowledge of any other scripting skills is a plus.
Background in IC processing/Semiconductor equipment is a plus.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 5 years of experience.
Master's Level Degree with at least 4 years of experience.
