The Global Supply Chain (GSC) organization is a matrix organization overseeing sourcing, supplier contracting, supplier management, materials management, procurement (direct and indirect), logistics, and trade compliance around the world.  GSC leads the company to establish and manage an innovative, reliable, efficient, effective, and compliant supply chain and logistics, working to assure competitive advantage for KLA-Tencor.

Responsibilities:
Sourcing Specialist and Buyer for indirect goods and services, managing all aspects of procurement related activities, such as processing purchase requisitions, creating SAP purchase orders, building and maintaining supplier relationships, contract negotiations, and requesting quotes for new and existing suppliers.
  • Source, buy and fulfill orders across all indirect procurement categories
  • Conduct and drive low dollar sourcing activities
  • Help drive procurement best practices across the organization
  • Collaborate with internal clients to understand business needs and provide procurement services to support the purchase of indirect goods and services
  • Collaborate with internal clients and procurement team members to effectively identify synergies and profit optimization opportunities, and drive the opportunities to completion
  • Assist internal clients with writing, submitting, and managing RFx’s or other informational requests to suppliers
  • Evaluate new suppliers on the basis of the price, quality, and speed of delivery of their products and services as well as regularly reviewing the performance of key suppliers
  • Manage contract negotiations
  • Maintain positive, effective relationships with suppliers and internal clients
  • Work with the Strategic Sourcing team to help drive early client engagement
  • Assist in preparing team presentations by gathering information, data, and creating charts
  • Troubleshoot and ensure problems relating to delivery, quality or pricing are promptly conveyed to the supplier and resolved in a timely manner
  • Understand the vendor master, requisitioning and purchasing applications/processes and assist/train internal clients on how to efficiently use them
  • Contribute innovative ideas to drive improvements in process efficiency, procurement strategies, cost reduction, and policies and procedures
  • Work with offshore procurement organization to drive process efficiency across the organization
  • Effectively prioritize workload to achieve optimum efficiencies

Preferred Qualification:
  • BS/BA Business or related field with preferred concentration in Operations or Supply Chain Management
  • 1-2 years of procurement experience preferred, especially indirect procurement. Specific semiconductor industry or capital equipment industry experience is a plus
  • Indirect procurement purchasing, sourcing and contract negotiation capability
  • Must have excellent written and oral communications skills and be comfortable coordinating tasks across multiple functions and global locations
  • Ability to create and apply company policies and procedures to resolve issues
  • Ability to effectively partner, influence and lead
  • Creative thinker, with a desire and ability to look for better ways to approach issues and situations
  • Excellent program management and project management skills
  • Proficient SAP experience is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft business applications
  • Must be able to quickly learn new concepts, processes and system
  • The candidate is required to be a team player with strong analytical and problem solving skills and high attention to detail

Minimum Qualifications:
BS/BA Business in Operations or Supply Chain Management
1-2 years of procurement experience preferred
