Business Unit:
The EBeam Division is a part of Wafer Inspection Group and provides industry leading electron beam review and inspection solutions for worldwide semiconductor IC manufacturers. The EBeam Division portfolio of products includes hardware and software solutions for electron beam review and inspection and automatic classification systems. These products are essential for the IC manufacturers as they provide critical capabilities for the development and implementation of their advanced IC processes. The EBeam division is committed to support our customers to achieve performance entitlement of our solution and we effectively partner with our customers from their early research and development phase to the high volume in-line manufacturing implementation specific for their process needs. The division consists of a global team located in US, Singapore and India.

  • Logical and systematic conversion of customer/market requirements into total system solutions and/or improvement projects that consider technical, schedule and cost constraints
  • Define the requirements and architecture for whole systems, subsystems and improvement projects and make sure the system is designed, developed, integrated and tested to meet the requirements
  • Make whole system connections and see the big picture
  • Define the top level system specifications, allocate requirements to the subsystems, calculate the system error budget, define and resolve interfaces and working parameters for the optimum hardware/software solution
  • Perform functional analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to develop solutions that optimize system performance. Able to lead technical evaluations of future generation products and effectively manage risk
Specific Responsibilities:
  • Provide significant contributions to the definition of system requirements and the architecture of complex subsystems and systems and architect entire subsystems in some cases
  • Develop top-level system specifications, system error budget, interfaces and working parameters for the optimum hardware and software solution
  • Plan and lead experiments and conduct trade-off studies required to make major architecture decisions of complex subsystems
  • Write subsystem specifications, drive the implementation, and take ownership of subsystem performance
  • Write test plans, including developing the specifications for modules and some subsystems, and lead the data analysis and completion of these tests
  • Influence design engineers to use design review rigor and dfX techniques, such as design for performance, value, integration, outsourceability, manufacturability, maintainability, diagnostics, serviceability, total cycle time, COGS, quality, reliability, regulatory, etc
  • Lead the outsourcing effort for small projects
  • Lead or provide significant contributions to enable cross-functional teams to solve system problems from manufacturing and the field
  • Lead a cross-functional teams on product improvements
  • Make contributions to the N+1 and N+2 product road map
  • Communicate effectively with diverse set of peers, interdisciplinary engineering groups, customers, and vendors
  • Diagnose complex subsystem problems across algorithms, software, electronics, mechanics, vacuum and electron optics
Preferred Qualification:
  • The successful candidate must have demonstrated an ability to solve complex technical problems, perform scientific data analysis using analysis tools, demonstrate knowledge of electron beam systems, optics and scanning electron microscopes, direct hands-on experience vacuum instrumentation and related electronics for all of the above
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Matlab, JMP and Python is preferred
  • Experience with machine control and Labview is desirable
  • As this is a senior level position, the candidate must have demonstrated leadership skills on a complex project involving multiple engineering disciplines
  • Finally, the candidate must have excellent communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 12 years of experience
Master's Level Degree with at least 8 years of experience
Doctorate (Academic) with at least 5 years of experience
