Position: Senior Electrical Engineering Designer and Researcher
Location: Milpitas, CA
Duration: Full time

Job Description:
Business Unit:
The Corporate Technology Group develops key technology used in KLA-Tencor’s inspection and metrology systems. We research, analyze and prototype key technologies such as sensors, lasers and optics. When the technology is proven to meet requirements, we work with KLA-Tencor product divisions and key suppliers to implement the technology into KLA-Tencor’s products.

Responsibilities:
1) Simulate and design complex analog/digital electronic circuits to meet low noise, high-speed (signal integrity) requirements of PCB or other substrates.
2) Capability of incorporating state of the art FPGA's in circuit designs.
3) Work with critical vendor to design next generation detectors and CCD devices.
4) Design and run experiments, analyze and present data with concert conclusions. Solve technical problems by utilizing problem solving techniques.
5) Collaborate with other team members and other divisions to solve complex electronics challenges.

Preferred Qualifications:
1) Hands-on experience in design and simulation of complex electronic circuits (analog and digital)
2) Experience using analytical tools for simulating signal integrity and noise.
3) Experience in CCD and silicon detectors.
4) Experience with ASIC design.
5) Experience with state of the art FPGA design and some firmware programming capability.
6) Experience with designs using SerDes for high-speed communication.
7) Experience with circuit designs utilizing ceramic substrates.
8) Experience in High voltage is a plus but not required.

Minimum Qualifications:
Doctorate (Academic) with at least 5 years of experience.
OR
Master's Level Degree with at least 6 years of experience.
OR
Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 7 years of experience.
