Business Unit:
The Surfscan Division specializes in developing unpatterned wafer surface inspection tool that provides the sensitivity and throughput required for qualification of current and next-generation semiconductor wafer substrates, as well as qualification and monitoring of process tools. Incorporating UV laser technology, darkfield optics and advanced algorithms, the Surfscan wafer surface inspection tools finds defects down to 30nm in size, and enables consistent, high sensitivity detection on engineered substrates.

  • Candidate will work in Systems Engineering group in the Surfscan division
  • In this position the candidate will have to develop a thorough understanding of Surfscan products with regards to calibrations, optics, mechanical systems, electronics, and software in order to contribute to new product development
  • Qualified candidate should have hands-on experience in designing, building and troubleshooting optical subsystems
  • This candidate will work on the subsystem of the inspection tool from proof of concept, prototype development, product development, manufacturing support and limited field support for advanced troubleshooting
  • Job responsibilities will include interfacing with different teams, creating subsystem specifications and specification validation on the inspection tools. Ideal candidate should be able to work independently as well as in a team consisting of Optical, Opto-mechanical and software engineers
  • This role requires a good combination of practical hands-on skills and system level thinking
  • Additionally, strong analytical skills are required to set up experiments and perform detailed data analysis
  • The candidate will need to multitask, work independently, and be a motivated team member
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills are needed
Preferred Qualification:
  • MS or PhD in Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering or Optics Engineering
  • Experience with Laser beam Optics
  • Strong hands on skills in setting up optical experiments, comfortable with laser beam alignment
  • Experience with optical detectors
  • Experience with data acquisition systems
  • Experience with optical metrology
  • Servo Control experience is a plus
  • Proficiency in Matlab/Python, Labview
  • Strong analytical skills
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's Level Degree with at least 4 years of experience
Doctorate Level Degree with at least 2 years of experience
