Position: Associate Test Engineer
Location: Milpitas, CA

KLA-Tencor has manufacturing sites across the globe, including Belgium, China, Germany, Israel, Singapore and Milpitas (CA). The Global Operations (GOPS) team, comprised of Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Installation, and Quality, is responsible for manufacturing our leading-edge technology. We partner with our world-wide supply base and our design engineering teams to bring new products to market. The GOPS team is continuously working to build our products Better, Faster, Cheaper.

Responsibilities:
•SKILL: Has substantial understanding of the job, and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks. 
•JOB COMPLEXITY: Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations.
•SUPERVISION: Normally receives little instruction on daily work, general instructions on newly introduced assignments.
•EXPERIENCE: Typically requires a minimum of 2 - 4 years of related experience.
•RESPONSIBLE: Responsible for performing the set-up, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies. Determines and may develop test specifications, methods and procedures from blueprints, drawings and diagrams. Tests and troubleshoots assemblies and/or final systems. May complete rework on assemblies and/or systems as a result of testing. As required, prepares technical reports summarizing findings and recommending solutions to technical problems. May assist in the selection and set-up of specialized test equipment.

Associate Test Engineer:
Works on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations. Normally receives no instruction on routine work, general instructions on new assignments. Requires experience in testing digital and/or analog systems. Ability to read complicated drawings, mathematics, handbook formulas, and a variety of testing and measuring instruments. An AA degree, military technical training or their equivalent vocational training is required.

Preferred Qualification:
Technical certificate or military technical training or equivalent vocational training, minimum of 2 - 4 years of related experience (electronics field) – ability to troubleshoot/resolve complex optical/mechanical issues with minimum supervision. Quality oriented and ability to meet standard hours on assigned projects.

Minimum Qualifications:
Technical School with at least 1 year of experience.
