Primary Responsibility:
Interact with Software, Systems, Manufacturing Operations, Global Service/Support and on occasion the Field to develop new Computer Systems and accompanying OS stack to support the Product Roadmap, enhance existing product(s) or product line(s) or simply handling obsolescence. The ideal candidate will be hands on, able to solve all manner of computer system integration issues, selecting HW, FW, drivers and in some cases application SW packages to solve complex operational requirements. Able to design, build and test prototype system configurations and performance test, tune, burn in test, iterate and then document and demonstrate the results to engineering. The candidate will be a self starter, strongly motivated, willing to work out of the box, able to solve complex issues and not afraid of a challenge.

OS: Windows Server – All editions of 2000, 2003, 2008, 2008R2, Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Embedded (XP, CE), SUSE Linux
Applications: MS Office suite – 2003, 2007, 2010, MacAfee AV, Norton AV, Trend AV, VMware (ESX), MSSQL, Mail System and associated protocols, Spice works, SNMP, Active Disk, Acronis, Windows Task Scheduler, Windows Backup, Matrox Imaging Library and Control suite, Intel IPPI, Intel vTune, Win Debug, PassMark SW (Performance Test, Burn In Test, USB Test).
Languages: Familiarity with VBA, VBS, MSSQL, C, C++ would be a bonus, Visual Studio (all versions), .Net, Java
Storage: NAS, SAN, iSCSI, Fiber Channel, RAID 0,1,2,5,6,10,20,50, HBA, SAS, SATA, SSD, iBFT, Design Creative High Speed Storage Solutions, LSI Logic Raid Controllers, Adaptec Raid Controllers
Compute: Intel X4 Series, X5 Series, X6 Series, GPU Accelerators (OpenCL, NVidia Fermi, NVidia Tesla, AMD FireStream)
Networking / Comms: 10/100/1000/10G Base-T, InfiniBand DDR/QDR/FDR
HW / Other: Super micro Servers, Backup Strategies and systems, Camera Link Interface, Multi-Serial I/O, Multi-Graphics I/O, GPU solutions, High Density Computer Systems (Blade Center, etc).
General Requirements:
1) Position requires a BS degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related.
2) Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Able to explain how it works and how others can troubleshoot.
3) Strong Technical Writing and Drafting skills. Able to document their work accurately and clearly. A strong technical and practical communicator.
4) Ability to multi-task is essential to support several groups, providing data analysis, metrics, project status, document review, test plan review, test plan results review and drive closure on open actions items.
5) The ability to work in a matrix-organization and attain consensus.
6) SAP experience preferred.
7) Change Control experience preferred.
8) Project management a plus.
9) Some travel may be required.

Able to build computer systems in their sleep. Understands the intricacies and importance of a well integrated HW, FW, Driver and SW Stack.

Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Frequently interacts with senior engineers. Interactions normally involve matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers within the company.SUPERVISION: Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, Self starter with weekly guidance and general instructions on new assignments given.

EXPERIENCE: Typically requires 3+ years of related experience.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Level Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with at least 5 years of experience.
Or
Master's Level Degree with at least 4 years of experience.
Or
Doctorate (Academic) with at least 3 years of experience.
